I have a vitamix commercial 2 speed blender VM0100A year 2008.  It recently stopped working.  If I press the button to start the blender it sounds like it clicks to start but none of the parts turn.  Also when I turn the main on/off switch on the light does come on.  I replaced the drive socket, but that’s not the problem.  I have replaced a drive socket on my other blender before and it works fine.  What could be the next thing I could try and replace or what is the next most common thing that goes wrong?  These blender are used to make smoothies and shakes.  Both my machines are 9 years old, but are not used as much as ones just in a smoothie shop.  I’m hoping it still has some life without having to get a new one.  Thanks!

Probabilities are the switch or the motor brushes.  Most likely the brushes.

I just worked at a commercial smoothie shop that had 4 of these units, but with a speed control, vm101? One was marked “Household Use Only”, the other 3 were identical it seemed like, but were marked “Household/Commercial use”.

One had a howling bearing, the second had a burnt control board, the 3rd I cleaned up the armature with emery, and the household only one I refused to touch.

My comment was, my goodness, they’re under $400 new, and we charge $95 an hour plus travel etc. Are you sure you want me to work on these little fellers? You’re just running them to death. Please consider a small Robocoupe or something that might last a while longer.

They had already gone to the discount store downtown and bought 2 even cheaper household units to replace the dead ones.

    I give up…

Don’t you just love a throw away society.

I don’t think this one has a board, but may be wrong.  Simple two spreed.
