I followed the directions clearly to remove blade cover and it just wont pry loose. Anyone have any shortcuts to removing the blade cover ive been working with slicers for 20 years and never had this issue.

Should be very simple. Unscrew the hex knob on the opposite side and lift the cover off. It is a threaded rod about 6 inches long with a cast knob that goes through the center of the blade to hold the cover on. Now if it hasn’t been removed in years, after removal you may haft to use a penetrant between the blade and cover to help break it loose. After removing the retaining screw/rod, rock the cover rotationally back and forth. The knife is mounted on the drive pulley. The drive shaft is stationary and has bearing inside the pulley. The cover seats against the end of driveshaft. The rod also trips a microswitch on the driveshaft to prevent running if the cover retaining screw is removed.

Don’t get cut! I’ve used a wood block and mallet in the past.
