Rational CMP & CM-Plus Irregular Heating
I have a customer with a Rational CMP-101 & CM-Plus 101. He complains about irregular heating when cooking bacon or cupcakes (for example) they dont brown off evenly. I tried varying fan speeds etc..
So after much too-ing and fro-ing and measuring, we found that the internal oven temperatures do actually vary considerably! I contacted Rational tech support, was told “it wont happen” “must be some Aluminium Foil in the fan/baffle”… asked again and found a Tech guru that said “yes – if the Gas Calibration is not done accurately the flame will only sit in the first part of the convection burner tube causing the temps in the oven to vary by 100’C” (Thanks Paul B!)… So Im off to recalibrate the gas burner/gas flue checks…I will let you know what I find…

Interesting. Please do post what you find. I have a Rational on site and if something like this happens I would like to know what to do to resolve.
