    Hello,

Just a quick note to ask if anyone knows a substitute for southbend oven rack model bgs/22sc. The part number is 1189860. The oven is old and might be replaced soon. Need 2 oven racks that will fit for the time being. OEM are $500 each.

Thank you for your time and assistance with my request.

OEM oven racks are a bit costly, but that is in part because of the material they have to be made with. They have to use quite a bit of Manganese in them to prevent warping and to take the loads and abuse that oven use delivers. Rack are made of a very special alloy due to the heat. I have had some made in the past by RHS in CO. But you have to be good with measurements and you accept if they are wrong. The radius’s and bends have to be on for them to work right. Forming them also has to be done hot to prevent cracking of the alloy.

    Hey Art,

Perhaps you could try a Garland Convection oven rack. From their MCO line

    Part number 1922211

The dimensions look the same online and seem to be less expensive than the Southbend/Middleby brand.

    (Less than half)

Maybe check with PTown when ordering to see if they will accept return should it not fit.

    Best of luck

    Ryan
