So my True bottle cooler is no longer cooling but all the fans are working and compressor vibrates etc. Obviously there is a leak. R134A is the refrigerant . They have a low side service port on the Tecumseh compressor(AE630AR717A2) but am at a loss as to how tap into it in order to fill it with a can of R134A refrigerant? Old unit true model #TD-65-24

    Are the condenser coils clean?

Is the air moving through the coil?

In a cooler like this they use a cap tube for metering the refrigerant. So just adding some without the proper equipment can do further damage. And, if it is low on refrigerant, then there has to be a leak. That has to be addressed first. I hate opening a system unless I’m sure that refrigerant is the problem.

The fact that it has a charge fitting is a indication that it is a older machine. They have done away with them as they were the primary cause of leaks. I highly recommend you find a refrigeration specialist for this as the equipment needed is costly. You will need at a minimum a gauge and manifold, vacuum pump, scale, micron gauge, recovery cylinder, and related hoses and fittings.
